About Me
Hello! I’m Misha, founder and head dog trainer at Roma Dog Behaviour Academy.
Animals have been a huge part of my life for more than 20 years. Alongside my work as a dog trainer, I ran my own animal rescue for 15 years, helping save, rehabilitate and rehome more than 400 animals.
For the past six years, I’ve been running Roma Dog Behaviour Academy here in the Tauranga area, helping hundreds of dogs and their families locally, while also working with dog owners online around the world.
My approach goes beyond teaching commands. I want to help people understand their dogs: why they behave the way they do, what they are communicating, what they need from us, and how we can guide them through the human world with confidence and clarity.
I’m incredibly passionate about dog behaviour, and I believe good training should be personal. No two dogs are exactly the same, and neither are their families. I take the time to get to know both ends of the lead and find practical solutions that work for your dog, your household and your lifestyle.
I’m also lucky to work alongside a wonderful team of people who share the same philosophy. We understand how precious your pets are to you. They are part of the family, and we treat them that way too.

Think Tinder for dogs, but for finding besties! You can discover other dogs in your area, and connect with their owners to find suitable social friendships for your dog.
But finding the right dogs is only part of it. SocialDog also gives you the education and tools to help make those interactions successful, with free seminars and resources covering puppy and adult dog socialisation, dog body language, reactivity, safe interactions and much more.
